hemp hearts

Hemp hearts are also known as hemp seeds. The outer shell is removed from the hemp seed through a de hulling process. The inside of the seed separates into two halves resembling a heart.

a healthy heart

Hemp seed is good for your heart health. You will find the perfect ratio between omega 6 & omega 3 in hemp seed, a 3:1 balance. These essential fatty acids will reduce cholesterol levels in the blood which helps to prevent heart disease. Additionally, hemp seeds or hemp seed oil reduces blood pressure, decreases the risk of blood clot formation and helps the heart recover after a heart attack.

brain fuel

Hemp Seed contains Polyphenols which are micronutrients that we get through certain plant-based foods. They're packed with antioxidants and protect the brain against inflammation. Hemp is also an excellent good source of GLA (gamma linoleic acid) and it is ideal to decrease the inflammation of depression, autoimmune disorders and hormonal imbalances.

A Protein punch

Hemp seed is 33%-36% protein making it a complete source of nutrients. Hemp seed can be a useful additional protein source, especially for athletes. A tablespoon a day provides the ideal amount of protein for exercise recovery.
